Press secretary Sarah Sanders ended up in a screaming match with White House counsel Don McGahn over the administration's disastrous handling of allegations against staff secretary Rob Porter back in February, according to a new report by the Washington Post. Reporters Ashley Parker, Josh Dawsey, and Philip Rucker found that the press secretary screamed and cursed at McGahn and refused to do her job unless provided with more information about the Porter situation.
<snip>
The report also notes that Sanders played a part in drafting the White House's statement in defense of Porter, who eventually resigned over allegations that he has abused his two ex-wives. That statement, the Post said, "later became an embarrassment to the administration."
<snip>
Deeming Sanders a "willing warrior" for President Donald Trump, the Post article shows that the outward struggles the administration has with the truth are reflected in inward tussles over communications strategy. That jostling was never on better display than this week, when Trump's new attorney Rudy Giuliani flatly contradicted the president and press secretary's previous denials that Trump had any knowledge of the hush money payment to the porn star known as Stormy Daniels.
The WaPo article is much ore detailed:

The WaPo article is really good. Thanks for another addition to my growing LIAR! collection, marble falls.
Defending a serial liar makes you one yourself. So glad that one reporter called her out on the Cohen issue.

Why was she invited?

"Because it's business, not the 3rd grade." Thanks for that, lindysalsagal. It's a keeper.

(28,120 posts)Aimed at me, insinuating that I'm a third grader, was biting, but had a familiar ring. I had to think long to find it in my brain's messy files. Googling, I did find it:
On Monday, during the last briefing before the Thanksgiving holiday, Sarah Huckabee Sanders treated the White House press pool the way a sadistic teen-ager would treat a group of third graders. ...
Sanders began her part of the briefing by saying that she was thankful for all the reporters in the room. That goes without saying, she added, in a tone that made it clear that the White House press secretary really does not like the White House press corps.
...
Unpleasant as her opening comment might have sounded, its all right for the press secretary to have an adversarial relationship with reporters; it is certainly better than a cozy relationship.

The whole article is well worth the read, especially since the author supports not only my but dozens of other Duers' positions, including our esteemed NanceGreggs, that the press and thinking public should take a most adversarial position with this bullying WH and the wanna-be dictator, Prez Cheeto. I guess many of us deserve to be degraded and called 3rd graders in your opinion.
Edited to add: You think a Democratic press secretary would/should go to a Fox News after party? (Rhetorical, of course. Bye.)
