MSNBC is thriving because viewers are tuning in for the play-by-play of what they hope will be Trumps downfall. Even a certain one-time Trumpkin cant get enough.

When MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallaces husband picks up the phone, hes apt to greet callers with HelloThe Resistance!
Thats just at home, Wallace told The Daily Beast about lawyer and former diplomat Mark D. Wallacelike Nicolle, an ex-operative on behalf of Jeb and George W. Bushwho these days seems to be channeling the Donald Trump-averse ethos of the lately emergent cable outlet where his wife hosts a highly rated 4 p.m. program.
Nicolle Wallace, a self-described former Republican, has yet to claim official membership in The Resistance, but since well before the 45th presidents inauguration, MSNBC had already become a self-reinforcing safe space for viewers who are alarmed by the endless melodramas and ominous idiosyncrasies of Trumps political persona.
I think we are being blunt and authentic in our coverage of this White House, Wallace said about the channel on which she has hosted her own hour-long panel show, Deadline: White House, since last May.

Surprisingly, one of MSNBCs more loyal viewers is right-wing firebrand and anguished former Trump supporter Ann Coulter, who hate-watches the cable outlet when not tuning in to her favorite television show, HLNs Forensic Files.
The fun of MSNBC is that its a closed system, theres no one whos not on the same conspiracy theory page. So they get to make reckless charges all day long and the ones that dont pan out are just quietly swept under the rug, Coulter emailed The Daily Beast. The conspiracies have gotten more heated in the Trump era and these too are just quietly dropped when it turns out they were all out of their minds.
An MSNBC spokesman declined to respond to Coulters impromptu TV review.
Chris Hayes, whose show All In launches MSNBCs prime time at 8 p.m., attributes the channels current success in part to a combination of reporting and voicynessi.e., the distinctive and occasionally quirky personalities of such colleagues as Katy Tur, Stephanie Ruhle, Ali Velshi, and Ari Melber.

(844 posts)Though I might be a little suspicious of anyone who considers it a favorite. Especially when that person is as hateful as Ann.

(1,216 posts)I don't have the patience to sit through hour long reality crime shows. FF is all done in 1/2 hour. And the depiction of characters in FF by actors is pretty good, and the bad guy always gets convicted in court. And I hate fiction. I honestly can't say it is my THE favorite show. That category belongs to American sports..all of them except boxing. But most good sport shows are on weekend afternoons only.

(58,785 posts)is mostly a closed system -- talking heads must run with the pack if they want to remain. They all know what's happened to those who contested the group line. Prime time shows are more intelligent and a bit less so, but still strongly governed by what can and cannot be said.

(9,291 posts)Stop patting yourselves on the head. We just want truth, not outrage. Stop using us emotionally, because I prefer to make decisions based on facts when I can help it. I'm aware my emotions are involved in all aspects of decision making, but we Dems still want facts. Even ones not in the echo chamber. I can't make smart decisions if all you're doing is manipulating for commercial dollars.
Still don't trust Nicolle Wallace. She just wants a job, which is fine. She just wants the rich to be able to steal all the money, in a more comfortable narrative.

MSNBCs stuff can survive a fact check, they back their reporting up, and if they get something wrong they correct it. So Anns doing what she does best - lie and project.

I'm sure Ann Coulter is bad-mouthing MSNBC because she would never be invited on there.
