Seriously, I think something that traumatic affects mental processing.

(34,333 posts)there's some guilt over refusing to upgrade FDNY communications equipment, which added to the death toll that day. Or maybe putting the EOC in the basement of WTC #7, against the wishes of just about everybody. Or perhaps all of the blood money he made off of exploiting that tragic day, of which he had a hand in making even worse. Just a guess.

Having put the City's emergancy center in the WTC so he could use it to screw his girlfriend.

(46,020 posts)During his campaign for mayor in 1992 or 1993, he prostituted himself to get support from the NYPD. One rally had him repeatedly screaming in a bullhorn, "BULLSHIT! BULLSHIT! BULLSHIT!" and they ate it up. Rudy was referencing then current mayor, David Dinkins, the first African-American to hold that position.
Lynn Samuels had her local radio talkshow on WABC at the time. Every three minutes, she'd remind the caller and the listeners how "vile" and "despicable" Rudy Giuliani was and she could justify it.
Giuliani was the one who had "squeegee men" arrested, the ones who wait for you to be stuck in traffic, come up to your car, clean the windshield without your permission, and then demanded money.
Giuliani was the one who wanted Medicaid recipients to work for their benefits. One thing stuck out though: Giuliani was going to fire union civil servants who did garbage collection, parks beautification, etc. and get the same labor with slave labor. It never went through.
We had another radio talkshow host, Bill Mazer on WEVD. He would also report on Rudy's deficiencies, although with a muffled sigh. That's because Rudy had given a heartwarming eulogy for Bill's wife, Dutch and Bill couldn't let go of that.
