...so I think his constituents know what/who they're getting.

The Democratic Party in NY should primary the shit out of him, get someone who actually supports our party's values, etc.

If your only criterion is formal party identification, then, yes, Andrew Cuomo is a Democrat. So, for many years, was Strom Thurmond.
I'm not saying that Cuomo is as bad as Thurmond. I'm saying merely that formal party identification goes only so far.
