(52,126 posts)he was my first judicial hero (yes, i was that weird kid who had judicial heroes) for (among other things) his absolute opposition to the death penalty. i believe the right to kill its subjects is a power no legitimate government should ever have. it was a very sad day for the nation when he passed and the supreme court has been on a downhill slide ever since the travesty of giving his seat to thomas.
i was just tickled by your post given your avatar of him.
poor choice of emoticons on my part as evidently it was open for an unintended interpretation.
is there an "apropos" or "well that's certainly fitting" emoticon?
i'll try to be more careful next time.
then again, i don't know, maybe he did have an awesome sense of humor, so maybe he was hilarious after all....

(26,366 posts)or will they take no action until the November election?
Underwood is currently (was) the Solicitor General of New York State.

(56,828 posts)she seems eminently qualified, but the legislature may want somebody younger so they can run for re-election in November and serve out a full 4 years - Alvin Bragg or Janet Sabol? Underwood will be 74 this coming summer.

(6,443 posts)I hope she brings Preet Bhara on board as he would be an excellent special deputy AG to handle the financial crimes and other crimes of the Orangehead Mafia as hes already acquainted with them.
