It will be remembered what they did

Every swing state Hillary lost by less than 1%, and 1% of people in those states voted for Stein

Very good question.
Trump will follow with his brilliant
strategy that he applied to many other
Problems. The strategy is called make it
as you go , maybe it might work.
If it does not blame the Democrats.

since they wouldn't last long without being propped up the US.

Russia is probably still going to support Iran. There are other countries that will continue to trade with them and don't give a shit what the US says.

And there is nothing to stop them from developing their nuclear weapons program since they're not bound by the treaty anymore. A future Dem president can try to re-establish relations and a new treaty but in the meantime they're free to do whatever they want.

posturing, we can kiss any North Korean deal goodbye (why would they ever trust us?), hardliners in Iran will make rapid and large political gains, and the US will be much more diplomatically isolated, as the EU and other blocs will recoil from the manoeuvres.

But it's a lot more complicated than just making it hard for Iran to sell its crude, for one thing the gulf states can overproduce if Russia limits access to oil, which they would probably not do because they need the revenue.

especially if the EU and China honour them. Iran is also a major trading partner with Russia. The last thing they want is the US and Israel going kinetic warfare there.

The only nations or part of nations happy about this are the RW in Israel, the RW lunatic Christian dominionists in the US, and the despotic Sunni regimes we prop up (especially the Saudis, who actually are far bigger funders of global jihadism that Iran) in the ME.

Even the RW lunatic Boris Johnson and most of the Tories did nit want Trump to pull out.

If our European Allies continue to do business with Iran than that will put a big wedge between US and it's allies.

Russia is a major ally and economic trading partner of Iran, and uses it as a counterforce, a peninslular catspaw, in the region to balance off the Sunni US/UK/NATO aligned despot (KSA, etc). If Iran goes, Syria probably goes as well, thus putting their only deepwater Mediterranean base (Tartus) at extraordinary peril.

The hardliners in Iran will use the US as a scapegoat for their economic problems and the US pretty much ties our allies hands when it comes to Iran.

Basically Trump taking a wrecking ball to any chance of peace and stability in the middle east.

So the agreement will still be in force.

The question is what kind of sanctions trump is planning and how will Iran react.

UNSCR 2231 is still in force as well, trump can't cancel that.

Are all signatories to the agreement and the UN is also on board. Its in Iran's interest to continue to honor the agreement.

We can push for sanctions at the UN, but its a good bet that not only will it be vetoed if brought up...its unlikely to pass in the first place.

We can institute our own sanctions, such as deny them access to US financial institutions to facilitate trade and make demands of foreign institutions doing business here...but its a good bet those foreign companies have set up alternatives. This will hurt us in the long run.

Next, we just guaranteed the Theocracy a longer term of rule. We just telegraphed that we are the enemy.

We lost a shit load of clout. What good is it to make a deal with us if the nutcase population can over-ride deals and negotiations made in good faith? We are now less of a leader and internationally, future deals will be less acquiescence to our demands. Sure we can blame the Russian hacking, however, it still doesn't excuse the political climate that made it possible.

The EU, China and Russia look like the adults in the room. Putin's inauguration with the former German Chancellor having a seat of honor was no accident.

Bibi wants either:

1. War with Iran
2. Cover for striking in Lebanon and Syria
3. Air strikes in Iran with US airplanes
4. All or some combination of above.

I'd rule out war, I doubt the seven nations that border Iran are willing to allow US troops stage an invasion from their soil. And that includes Iraq and Afghanistan. Plus its a guarantee advanced weapons from Russia and China would pour into the nation.

It's not the end of the world, but dumb fuck in chief really screwed up here.
