JUST IN: Former Pres. Obama calls Iran decision "so misguided."
"Walking away from the JCPOA turns our back on Americas closest allies, and an agreement that our countrys leading diplomats, scientists, and intelligence professionals negotiated."
Obama reached the "I aint having this shit no more" level.

We haven't seen anything like this, to this degree. Not with Nixon, not with George W. Bush, not with Reagan. Those three were bad in many different ways; Trump is just bad, in ALL ways.

(82,849 posts)When the president pulls us out of a treaty like Trump is doing on JCPOA, our allies learn that our word is not to be trusted. Trump's mercurial changes in attitude make the country weaker and less respected in the community of nations. It will be years before the U.S. is trusted like it was in 2008.
Thanks, Republicans!

(82,849 posts)Sorry I singled out the Republicans, as if they had anything to do with the failure of this agreement to become a treaty obligation or for nominating that tiresome buffoon for the presidency.

(18,470 posts)Even if it was a treaty that wouldn't stop the orange fuck from pulling out (like his father should have). The Constitution says treaties have to be made with advise and consent of the Senate. Doesn't say a thing though about the Senate's role in pulling out of treaty agreements. In Goldwater v. Carter the Supreme Court said the President didn't need the Senate's OK to do that.

So, if there are enough people smart enough to outvote the idiots, we will go back to being what we used to be, which is ironic, because that's exactly what the trump voters thought they were voting for.

Tillerson & McMaster were pushed out when they were because they were against pulling out of the Iran deal and this decision date was approaching.
This is what it's all about, and Donald J. tRump is participating in efforts by a foreign power to weaken America. There are many interconnected threads at play in the fabric, but it all boils down to: TREASON--aiding and abetting and giving comfort to foreign adversaries!!

We're all going to pay the piper for this ill decision by the current administration.

(978 posts)One of Putin's stated goals was to break up NATO - well guess what, this puts the US at odds with all the NATO signatories to the Iran nuclear deal which means that if we impose sanctions on Iran, any NATO alley selling to them will be on our hit list. Way to go Orange Anus, Putin's Puppet!
