Why are we not blaming Mitch McConnell for this and everything else this president does?

By now, we should know that Trump doesn't care if he creates chaos. He doesn't care when we call him a liar. We pretty much know he is psychopathic, if not a psychopath.

Mitch McConnell is the reason he pays no price. You could argue Paul Ryan is also to blame. We know if Obama had done any of the things trump is doing, impeachment hearings would be in full swing. Remember Benghazi? Remember Niger? Remember the difference? We've got to stop giving Republican leadership a pass in the face of this hypocrisy.

Trump could literally burn this country to the ground and they would stand by! Democrats, please, let's focus our anger on the two daddys not on the child. I believe they are still politicians and can be shamed in a way trump cannot. They've just not had to feel any heat.

We know Paul ryan is on his way out. Why aren't we loudly saddling him with the legacy of this disaster? Smear his family name with trumpshit he can't wash off. Send a message to his successor that he owns trump.

What do you think, fellow dems? It starts with calling out the "parents" in every post about the child.

They are the leaders of a Congress that is supposed to provide the balance of power. They know he colluded with Russia and they remain quiet, or worse, hobble investigations by appointing hostile actors to lead critical committees. They sit back while members call for the firing of Mueller. We forget that they have control over their members. As leaders, they could send a clear message that no one is above the law. This is on them.

Our cable hosts and our journalists need to remind their audience that McConnell and Ryan aren't doing their job. We have to fight back agains these two with our words as well as our vote.

As long as the poor, the middle class, and the white evangelicals are fighting over social issues like abortion, LGBTQ rights, religious freedom, and racist attitudes, they will have less time to notice what those at the top of the economic ladder are doing to rob them blind and kill democracy. Crazy, right-wing judges who will rule in ways that damage personal rights are just the ticket to continued partisan division and Republican electoral success in many areas of the country. Some of the worst cases will be appealed to higher courts, but with time this administration can stack even those with right-wing extremists, and then the Supreme Court becomes the last arbiter. The SC takes very few cases, though, so much damage can be done at local and state courts. I no longer have much hope that we can avoid this scenario because it requires Democrats to take the Senate majority this fall, and Republicans will not allow that to happen. They have their Russian friends to call on, as well as state officials who will do everything they can, including throwing legitimate voters off the rolls, to prevent Democratic wins for the Senate. I’m not saying that they would change vote totals, but most voting systems are imminently hackable and it would be very easy for someone to hack into their systems as they are transmitting data to the states and change the algorithm for how those vote totals are calculated.

I am encouraged by our efforts to GOTV, but we have to have an overwhelming turnout to defend against theft. I believe the strongest path is turning red states blue, like Texas. The republicans have already implemented every strategy they can think of to determine the outcome in the swing states. But, red states are less contaminated.

I maintain that our media strategy needs to shift to hardcore attack on the leadership until they can't show their faces in public.

The result of that, is that the country hates congress as a whole, but they love their own congressman. We must amp up our efforts to get these two enablers in the mind of every voter, until they are toxic. If we do our job right, when it comes time to consider impeachment, perhaps they will see it in their own self-interest to get him out.

We have the truth on our side. We're simply not going to get anywhere by focusing on trump. I'm convinced the Republicans like that trump serves as a lightening rod. All the attention is on him while so much goes on behind the scenes. Our new lightening rod must be McConnell and Ryan. And we need to be fierce, focused, and relentless.

Wed May 9, 2018, 10:24 AM

I think the daily shit storm has been responsible for a lack of coverage on McConnell's role in all this. He played politics to STEAL the Supreme Court appointment from Obama. And he's done whatever he could to get the tax cut through.

I agree that enough is enough regarding no shining a floodlight on Mitch's role. To think the filth stopped at their doorstep is wasted energy. It will be interesting to see if any financial reporting finds any trace to his doorstep.

His financial report from 2009

They deserve MUCH more scorn and derision than McCarthy. What he did was playground stuff by comparison, one could weakly argue, was either in, or motivated by, the national interest. There is almost nothing being done in the national interest that I can see.

McConnell for the asinine actions of the Senate. Also, keep in mind Mitch has enablers, too. He is not alone for the Pee poor actions of Republicans in the Senate.

Same with Ryan, those who want to replace him are as bad as Ryan. I thought Steve Scalise would mellow out after almost dying, but he is even meaner than before.

When we target the top two, we send a message that we're watching and we're pissed. Our number exceeds theirs by 3 million+. (EAT THAT TRUMP, CHIEF SCUMBAG!) That's a lot of voices if we could direct them at those two men. Let's make McConnell unelectable by tying him to everything trump does, especially the things that hurt red states. Do to him what they have been doing to Pelosi and many other dems BY NAME.
