No one knew that was going to happen, so there were no cameras trained on the WTC.

a day later. You can bet that CIA had an office associated with recruiting sources and operations regarding foreign intelligence mining going on in and around the WTC.

9. Not a lie - just a misstatement

Everyone conflated what they saw repeatedly on 911 on TV with what they later learned happened. Even the people in NY or NJ who could have seen what happened, it was really hard to take in and process in their minds. (I lived in NJ and knew people who worked either right across the Hudson or in NYC) I turned off the TV realizing that I did not want to see the plane hitting the WTC again or the collapse.

The word "knew" is a problem -- as a CIA officer she had an educated guess that it was OBL, but there is no way she had the knowledge that it was OBL.

Come on, we can't go around calling out a lie on something that insignificant. I'll give you a for-instance: When Al Gore talked about going down to view a disaster area as vice president, something he did quite often, he mentioned that one of his aides had been with him. Now, while that aide had accompanied Gore on quite a few of these trips, that aide wasn't on that particular visit. The popular media knew that that was a sterling example of what a liar Gore was, how terrible he'd be for the country if he became president, and the clear and present danger his candidacy posed to our beloved country.

You just have to know what's important, and what it's okay to call a lie.
