2. The word "hero"....

has been bandied about so frequently since 9/11 it's almost lost it's true meaning. Every Fireman, Police Officer, member of the Military etc. have been touted as "heroes". Yes, most of them are doing a fine job in their chosen profession, but not everyone is a "hero".

It's like the word "love" in the 60s. Everyone "loved" everyone else, man, but love just seemed to lose it's actual meaning.

Just my two cents.

Just being a cop or in the military does not make someone a hero.

1. A person admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.

2. The chief male or female character in a book, play, or film, who is typically identified with good qualities, and with whom the reader is expected to sympathize.

3. In mythology and folklore, a person of superhuman qualities and often semi-divine origin, in particular one whose deeds were the subject of ancient Greek myths.

4. A submarine sandwich.

John McCain is considered a war hero not because he was captured by the Vietnamese, but how he conducted himself while he was a prisoner, including but not limited to rejecting early release when his captors learned who his father was. He refused to leave until those who were captured before him were sent home.

Trump hopes that by calling the three released prisoners "heros" he can somehow transfer their fame to himself by rubbing his butt against them. After all, it's really all about him, isn't it?

Trump says "everybody (which means him) thinks I deserve the Nobel Peace Prize." Who does that -- lobby for the Peace Prize? Other than Donnie Two Scoops who does that? One word that does not exist in Trump's limited lexicon is "humility."
