I don't get it. Why is Trump praising Kim Jung Un for hostage taking?

Eleven hostages were released by Kim Jung Un during the Obama administration. Not once did the president praise the dictator.

The three hostages released today is great for the individuals and their families. But they shouldn't have been taken hostage in the first place. Trump's actions, in order to make a big TV spectacle of the release, only encourages Un to take hostages in the future, if things don't go well.

My analogy in all this is if some asshole kidnapped my kid and then released him 2 years later, you can rest assured I'd be happy to see him, but I would certainly not be praising the fucking kidnapper.

And all this talk by the Trumpets that they got the hostages back for nothing. The summit itself is something. Trump has normalized Un (I know, I can't believe I said that, either, after I read what I wrote. Trump normalizing anyone is unbelievable.).

This past 16 months is like living in bizarro world.

This is from FOX, so the 'rump supporters should believe it.

North Korea's Kim Jong Un uses terrifyingly creative methods to kill enemies

Fox News

From siccing wild dogs on his own uncle to gunning down his enemies with artillery meant for taking out planes, North Korea's Kim Jong Un has built a reputation for dispatching with extreme prejudice all those who cross him.

While some of the terrifying methods of execution have never been confirmed, the mere mention of them is sure to keep his inner circle in line - and any potential rivals quiet, say experts. A confirmed favorite tactic, blowing people away with anti-aircraft guns, leave victims unrecognizable

I am posting from this source to show that even the right's propaganda machine said he was evil. Of course the possibility exists that 'rump and his followers wants to be able to act like this.

So Fox News supported that narrative.

South and North Korea decided on this peace deal most probably to keep Trump out of it since he just makes everything worse. He has the Midas touch of shit.

The most delicious irony of all - most of the derisive comments about "participation trophies and ribbons" and such tend to come from right-wingers.

Though facts are scarce, they were arrested for alleged crimes committed in North Korea. Each case is unique, but my first question is "why did they go there?". I wouldn't pick Club Med Pyong Yang for a vacation, and I bet no one else here would either.

At least one was arrested for espionage.

The real question is why Americans insist on going to NK at all since it's clear the NK government is guaranteed to arrest them whenever they're short on foreign policy bargaining chips...
