... had a thing for actress Angela Cartwright, who played the younger sister on Lost in Space? She was only a few years older than I, and I think my entire female aesthetic (short, small, long dark hair...) was formed because I was noticing her interesting bits just as I noticed that I had an interesting bit.
We talk of Ginger and Mary Ann (and Jeannie, who takes the crown), but I wonder how many guys were weird like me, and thought little Penny Robinson was just the girl I wanted under the Christmas tree? But I didn't like her big sister at all. And anyway, she was already taken.

Okay, so I am a tad older. Puberty in 1960 or so.
Still she actually did Star Trek in one episode. Remember? "Metamophosis"
And she played Andy Griffiths' girlfriend for a while in good old Maybury.
Still think she was lovely. Probably still is.

(17,195 posts)But, apropos of short-lived series, I also had a strong attraction to the girl who played the young sister on the TV series Hank, which ran at the same time as Honey West. Katie Sweet, just 5 days older than I. Also, come to think of it, short, small, and with long dark hair.

(509 posts)and I remember back when there were only three channels and the whole family sat around and watched the show. Pretty risque for the times but classy at the same time.

(17,195 posts)I'm a fan of poet Wendy Cope, who is a few years older than I. I once wrote a poem parodying her H. E. Houseman poem that stated "I am in love with Wendy Cope..."
A fellow-traveller on that board, a man rather younger than I, replied "Dude, she's 'way too old for you."
I wrote back: "Is she dead? Then she isn't too old."

(17,195 posts)Ah, this game could go on forever. Another addition to the names should be Carol Merrill, the gal from Let's Make a Deal. A real cutie. She and Monty were reuinited on a talk show about 20 years after, and Monty jumped up and practically ran across the stage to hug her when he found out what was behind Door Number 3.

The hottest '60 actresses to me were Emma Peel (Diana Rigg), Jeannie (Barbara Eden), 99 (Barbara Felden), Catwoman (Lee Merrywether/Julie Newmar) and Alice Johnson (Karen Valentine) of Room 222.

(27,247 posts)but the only female character I remembered was Lottie, because she was like the Miss Kitty character on Gunsmoke. LOL. I also remember Jason, Jeremy and Joshua, but for some reason I don't remember Bridget Hanley at all. But after looking her up, her character name, Candy, does ring a bell, however faint.
