Trump is not uber-rich. He always needs money. I'd bet Trump got a cut from deals Cohen made

and did it with Trump's blessing to grab every dollar available.

Trump has a mob boss worldview - it's who he is.

Wonder what news media would dare bring this up?

Trump always gets the lion's share. The crumbs are left over for the Cohens to sweep up.

Real estate markets and his companies took a financial dive.
He was over leveraged to sustain his image and financially vulnerable.
US banks would not bail out the multiple bankruptcy - multiple lawsuit for services rendered artist
So the Russians bought him.

The rest, as they say, is history. I do not think it is that complicated.

just a Ponzi. If you have ever dealt with Business to Business Sales for any length of time. One learns the signs of what I am talking about. Cash, failure to pay Invoices on time or even 120 days late. Bounced Checks, canceled orders,Invoices and statements paid in partial.

And when the Janitors and Mail Clerks start tipping you off, baby it won't be long.

over to him

There’s no way he let them make this kind of money using their relationship with him without getting a huge portion of it as tribute.

A cut? Nah, Trump got most of it. Cohen got a small %. This was money collected to bribe Trump, Trump took most of it.

The guy is up to his eyeballs in debt, more than his assets. He owes more to creditors than his take home pay. He can't get more loans except by turning to shady sources. He gambles on get-rich schemes. Declares bankruptcy over and over, so he can save a few bucks and start over. Pretends to collect for charity so he can pay himself from the funds. Opens for-profit schools so he can rip off students. Kites checks, stiffs creditors, defaults on loans, doesn't pay his bills. He has so little money on hand that he runs for president so he can collect campaign donations and spend them on living expenses...Don't go to dinner with him unless you can cover the check because he will dine and dash leaving you to pay. He will sell access, coerce people to give him kickbacks and steal from anyone foolish enough to do business with him.

My awful date with Donald Trump: The real story of a nightmare evening with a callow but cash-less heir

It was New York in the early 1970s. He arrived in a white Cadillac convertible. And had no cash to pay for dinner

snip

. . . Not a conversationalist, but neither was I. I didn’t think he was very bright.

The check came but the restaurant didn’t take credit cards. My date couldn’t pay for the dinner. This was the first thing I could relate to all evening. Me, Jewish girl, independent but not too, always had bad-date, worst-case-scenario, awkward-situation, get-home money.

So, my big shot, Cadillac, phone-in-convertible boring date couldn’t pay for dinner. He was stunned and embarrassed. I said, "Let’s get aprons and do the dishes. It would be fun." His face was horror-stricken. He was flustered. Relax, I have the money. Oh, thank God. He swore he’d pay me back tomorrow so many times that I thought it not likely.

He never did. That may tell you something about my date with Donald Trump.

Given how control freaky Trump is, I don't see Cohen making money deals that involve him in any way without Trump being fully aware of them.

Sometime into the first year of his presidency there was an article about how the majority of properties sold in Trump Tower (millions) were bought by shell companies to hide the new ownership of those properties.

My bet is on something like this. And if that is the case - you know Mueller and his team are all over it.
