It all began with a little tease. "Yeah, I will release my tax returns as soon as the audit is done", we were told. We had hope that we would eventually get to see Donald Trump's tax returns. But, it was not to be.
When it became apparent that we would never see his tax returns or any information about his business dealings, so began the long journey into night. So was planted the seeds of doubt and distrust.
Then the Russians began appearing, like ghosts from a spy novel, and they seemed to be everywhere. The distrust grew deeper. Many people, mostly patriotic Americans, grew very suspicious and were concerned about the security of our country. In fact, they were the true patriots.
As Russia became more and more of the focus, our worst fears seemed to materialize? There seemed to be a huge, complex conspiracy to take over America...
We realize that eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. If we must be obsessed, let it be about preserving our freedom.
