In a statement published Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said he would embark on a round of international diplomacy to try and save the deal. At the same time, the country would make preparations to restart its program of nuclear enrichment, he said.
Zarif's comments came as thousands of Iranians took to the streets in the largest demonstration since US President Donald Trump announced his decision to abandon the deal on Tuesday.
Protesters burned an American flag and railed against the US and Israel after emerging from Friday prayers in Tehran.

(3,268 posts)Helped draft the original agreement and signed it as Iranian foreign minister along with John Kerry as Secretary of state. As such I'm sure he felt pressure to make this statement after America's actions under Trump.

Oh yeah, and the next round of negotiations--if they ever happen--could very well be with Iranian hardliners energized by Drumpf who will be less inclined to play ball, making it harder for a sane U.S. administration in the future to reach an even less favorable agreement.
