Big Collateral Damage at AT&T - By Josh Marshall

By Josh Marshall | May 11, 2018 10:24 am

CNBC just reported that AT&T CEO Randal Stephenson is calling hiring Michael Cohen a “big mistake. They are also reporting that their Senior Executive Vice President of External & Legislative Affairs, Bob Quinn, is ‘retiring’. That long title means head of their DC office, where lobbying and all government-facing activities are run out of. Here’s the critical backstory. Jim Cicconi, Quinn’s predecessor, had been in that position for about a decade and was a real player in the DC/Government Relations world. He only left about a year and a half ago. In other words, Quinn just showed up and now he’s out, apparently as fallout from the Michael Cohen debacle.

Remember. Everyone who gets near Trump gets damaged.

What is especially notable, brutal is that this seems to have been one of Quinn’s first major decisions in the job. Quinn began in the post in October 2016. Our best evidence suggests that Cohen was signed up very early in 2017 – probably in January or February. Turns out to have been a bad decision.

day due. I told them that they needed to deduct the nearly $6 charge (it is the principle of the matter) 1. because I'm in the "right" and 2) that I'm sure that is the least of what I've already paid out to finance their Michael Cohen Donald Trump bribes.

I was pleasant about it, but the guy admitted he'd been hearing a lot of similar. (oh, and he reimbursed me for the charge-).

It doesn't mean thay will do anything any differently.
It only means they will try to be more discreet.

with out the negative publicity of Cohen. Two years ago, this firm went on a major sales event giving new customers a 300 Visa rebate card for two year service contracts. Well guess what, times up,cancellations are off the wall so to speak.

Now with this story about Cohen/Trump pay to play, people will be canceling or switching in massive numbers.
