Article 3:If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

The talking heads are morons-John McCain is a hero, but if he agreed to be returned home after capture he would have been court martialed for conduct unbecoming. It is plenty enough that he flew aircraft in combat but saying yes to early release is a no-no even for the lowliest private and would have ruined the life of the son of a navy admiral...
