Scott Lively, a fringe Republican Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate who has nonetheless received enough support at the recent Massachusetts Republican Party Convention to qualify for a primary run against incumbent Republican Gov. Charlie Baker, said this week that he’s received “spiritual confirmation” that President Donald Trump has gotten right with the Lord.

According to Right Wing Watch, Lively appeared on a local radio show to discuss his run for governor, and he singled out Trump for praise not just as a president, but as a man of God.

Lively is best known for writing a book called “Pink Swastika” that claims “militaristic” gay men within the Nazi party were the ones who were really behind the mass extermination of Jews during World War II. The book has been widely debunked by historians.
