Biden hits White House comment on McCain: 'Decency' has 'hit rock bottom with this administration

Former Vice President Biden has issued a harsh rebuke of the White House staffer who mocked Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) at an internal meeting.

The Hill reported that, in a closed-door meeting on Thursday, special assistant Kelly Sadler dismissed McCain's opposition to President Trump's CIA nominee, saying, “It doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway."

Last year, McCain revealed that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. He is currently being treated in Arizona.

"People have wondered when decency would hit rock bottom with this administration. It happened yesterday," Biden, a close friend of McCain's, said in a statement. "John McCain is a genuine hero — a man of valor whose sacrifices for his country are immeasurable. As he fights for his life, he deserves better — so much better."
