Avant-garde guitarist Glenn Branca dies at 69

1. He had some really interesting music.

I have a recording of his 3rd Symphony, which has these instruments that have belt driven bows that bow strings with electric guitar-style pickups, built into a harpsichord cabinet and played with keys. And they're tuned to some sort of Just Intonation tuning to bring out the overtones. The sound of 20 or so of those things playing at once is pretty memorable.

And he has the dubious honor of John Cage calling his music 'fascist,' whatever that's supposed to mean.

Thanks for the post. I have a lot of respect for Glenn Branca, and didn't see this elsewhere.
