(9,688 posts)Foreign leaders have his number: flattery will get you everywhere with this insecure, ignorant, narcissistic fool.
Each of these incidents diminishes our reputation and decreases our safety. I original was going to add "bit by bit," but there's nothing incremental about the effects of any of his disastrous moves, from walking away from the climate agreement and the Iran deal to his naive (yet also self-dealing) interactions with Kim, Putin, and more. And now with people like Bolton and Pompeo representing "diplomacy" (not), well - it's downright terrifying.

(7,402 posts)Accordingly, China is already eating his lunch - witness the ZTE and Indonesia agreements. And they're just getting started.
Trump is boxed in on North Korea because the deal cannot look like what he just walked out on with Iran. Everything is pointing to Trump getting taken to the cleaners.

(13,340 posts)Actually said he was surprised by what the Norks did, though he said he was embarrassed.
I mean, how can anyone with a brain be surprised? Anyone who knows anything of the PRK's history expected this. Kim is seeing id Trump will fold. If he does, they win a significant victory. If he doesn't, he can play it up to the world that Crazy Trump is the one impeding progressing. The Chinese will secretly violate sanctions (even more than they already are). The Russians will too. They both see the PRK as a way of weakening the USA's reputation and influence. They are even hoping to drive a wedge between the ROK and the USA.
