"These aren't people. These are animals" - Trump. Said this. Today. About immigrants.

Trump ramps up rhetoric on undocumented immigrants: 'These aren't people. These are animals.'

WASHINGTON — President Trump used extraordinarily harsh rhetoric to renew his call for stronger immigration laws Wednesday, calling undocumented immigrants "animals" and venting frustration at Mexican officials who he said "do nothing" to help the United States.

“We have people coming into the country or trying to come in, we're stopping a lot of them, but we're taking people out of the country. You wouldn't believe how bad these people are," Trump said.

"These aren't people. These are animals."

Those who currently believe everything’s jim-dandy are permanently lost. It’s useless to try and win them over, particularly when their daily media addictions repeat-repeat-repeat all the Deep-State foolishness, never missing (no matter how obliquely) a chance to toss in a slight at those magic names of Clinton, Obama and Soros. They are told over and over how much we don’t respect working-class folks, etc., etc., ad nauseum.

Democrats and progressives who try to woo these hard-cores are just whistling in the wind.

President Trump just said immigrants from Mexico aren't human, they're animals.

I have one request. Denounce this evil, un-American statement.

It's your duty to hold the President accountable. If you don't denounce these vile words, you're saying you agree. And that makes you complicit in any evil acts that follow from the President's effort to dehumanize people.

Where will it stop? Will the President soon call Muslims animals? Disabled people? Blacks? Do I really need to read Martin Niemöller's poem to you? You know the one... it begins with "First they came for..." If you're unaware, ask one of your aides to look it up.

Trump never took enough power in 2016 to truly consolidate after his coup, so he's got to wrap it up the hard way if he still wants to play for the big autocratic kielbasa, and for that he needs to spread all kinds of fear all over the country. the pressure's on him now to go big or go to jail.

He'll appear to reference gang members at certain times, but then moves the conversation to infer criminality to immigrants as a whole, both legal and undocumented.

This is to of course create the impression that the overwhelming majority of immigrants coming from the Southern border are here to commit crimes, which is of course bogus.

But just look to the infamous line in his announcement speech:

"The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else's problems. . . . When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/06/16/full-text-donald-trump-announces-a-presidential-bid/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.95339893a017

Note how he didn't differentiate between gang members and other immigrants there, or even draw a distinction between legal and undocumented immigrants. And the fact that the best he can offer us is that "some, I assume, are good people" speaks volumes. He can't even say for sure. He has to only assume that "some" (which seems to suggest a small minority) are "good people."

He's speaking to his xenophobic base here. That's what he's doing right now, and what he was doing three years ago.
