Has it sunk in yet DUers?

The President of the United States has admitted to paying a porn star for her silence days before the election.
This after denying the relationship and lying about the payment on a previous financial disclosure form.
If Groper Don the Con were a Democrat, the entire country would be calling for his resignation this morning.
The House would be moving on impeachment.

And then there's this

Trump is a scumbag and we already know that. But they cant put him in jail for being one. And if it does go the way the Clinton case did, the punishment will be for some lame Martha Stewart "lying to feds" case.
I see Mika going nuts right now because "there could be dozens of other women out there". I dont doubt it. But thats STILL not gonna get shitgibbon a jail cell

will ignore any attempt to bring the bigot in them forward. There is no way to set these selfish people in the correct direction so it's just a waste of energy if you think you wanted to try. The best thing to do is just to engage them to demonstrate to anybody observing how twisted they are. They feel entitled, cheated but still protest when they are not put first. People with such emotion in tow are not reasonable which is why any discussion with reason is a waste of time

I not holding out for any self-correction of any person, system or group. I think it will only happen when the dire situation needed arises to make that change. They cannot believe they were ever wrong and any bar we think might be there should be ignored. The rest of the animals in nature that runs around groups always do it that way, we should expect no less from them

,,,and there are days when it feels like the United States, via having Trump as our "president," has descended into a 24/7 penis measuring contest.

Facts KEEP surfacing about the Trump "Universe." And the response from Trump, via Rudy, is "YOU HAVE TO END THIS, YOU HAVE NOTHING!"

This has been Trump's entire life on the "national stage," stretching far back before his political aspirations. The political garbage started with his INVENTING the "birther movement" because he KNEW he could find an audience willing to buy into a lie if he sold it as aggressively as his fucking steaks. They did. That gave him a "green light" to do what he's doing now, with Ryan and McConnell as either his enablers or silent co-conspirators or both.

The ONLY encouraging aspect of ANY of this is that Mueller does not appear to be swayed AT ALL by the chest-thumping.

Was Clinton’s lack of judgement just a peccadillo? Not in my eyes! His stupid and selfish behavior cost Al Gore the election and if Al Gore had won, we might never have had an Iraq War. Bad behavior on the part of a president has serious and deadly consequences. I hope with all my heart that Trump leaves office soon before we have more trouble heaped upon the world. Never trivialized what we all gave up because of Pres. Bill’s selfish and stupid behavior!

The special prosecutor was supposed to be investigating Whitewater. When they realized there was nothing there, they went on a fishing expedition, got lucky and stumbled on a mild consensual relationship, and used it to entrap Clinton in a lie under oath. I don't blame Clinton, I blame the Republicans who were out to get him no matter what. I challenge you to compare Clinton's "crime" to the myriad of real crimes Trump has committed during his first year in office. There is no comparison. Gore lost the election because the Republicans stole it in Florida with help from the Supreme Court, and Ralph Nader siphoned off votes in key swing states.

eventually they impeached him for lying in court about it, but well before that, they were calling for his head simply because he lied to the public about it, as if people have a moral obligation to divulge private affairs to the public.

eventually they recognized that that at least wasn't an impeachable offense, so they waited until they got him being evasive in a civil case, so they had an actual crime they could accuse him of (clearly not a "high crime and misdemeanor" in the way the founders intended, but they gave congress to power to interpret that phrase).

but oh, wait, donnie does have a crime linked to his lied -- failure to disclose on fec forms, at a minimum.

Do you think the gap between the 130,000 and $250,000 is to cover other payoffs for women or fees for Cohen?

U.S. President Donald Trump’s financial disclosure, released Wednesday, revealed for the first time that he repaid a debt of more than $100,000 (U.S.) to his personal attorney, Michael Cohen, in 2017, raising questions about whether his sworn filing from a year ago improperly omitted the transaction.

The disclosure, released by the Office of Government Ethics, did not specify the purpose of the payment. However, Cohen has paid $130,000 to adult film actress Stephanie Clifford, who has said she had an affair with Trump. Cohen has said he made the payment shortly before the 2016 election as hush money for Clifford, who goes by the stage name Stormy Daniels.

Trump repaid Cohen between $100,001 and $250,000 in 2017, according to a footnote in the filing, but he did not include that information on last year’s financial disclosure form.

The Mueller investigation isn't going to take down Trump. Even if Mueller has him caught, red-handed, personally colluding with the Russians to steal the election.

Republican politicians and thought leaders simply will not care. And it is mathematically impossible to remove Trump from office without a significant number of Republican Senators going along. That's not going to happen without a massive shift in public opinion. But most Republican voters don't care either.

We're going to have to change our way of thinking. We're going to need to use every legal tool at our disposal to block them, upstage them, and take them down. We can't continue to take the high road, expecting that the voters will reward us for it someday. They won't.

Thu May 17, 2018, 10:42 AM
May 2018

anymore than Bush and Cheney were going to be frog-marched to The Hague.
Just because you really, really want something to happen or it should doesn't mean it will.
Impeachment without conviction by the Senate is like sex without orgasm--ultimately unsatisfying. And Trump will not be convicted in the Senate. Republicans have thrown their lot in with Trump and will either sink or swim with him, but they've come too far down the road with Trump to casually reject him.
Certainly Trump could resign and then Pence would pardon him of everything even if it hasn't yet happened like Ford did with Nixon. But he is not going to jail--that's just our fantasy and wet dream.
And if the nation is purged of Trump, what of those tens of millions of loyal Trumpsters?
Are they going to simply have a Damascus Road experience and realize the error of their way, repenting of worshiping Trump as they meekly and gently go into that good night?
No way! They won't be going anywhere and things will get worse and more violent.
So we shouldn't for a moment delude ourselves into thinking that in having Democrats take Congress and the White House will result in Nirvana in America. Just the judges alone that Trump has appointed and will appoint will affect the nation for up to a generation.
So we had better anticipate and prepare for the consequences of getting rid of Trump.

As it stands now in the U.S. this is going to be a war without end with battles won and lost on both side. Unfortunately looking at past history, I don't have a lot of confidence in the Left to persevere and be vigilant.

It’s tiring to read all the posts everyday of posters saying they can’t wait to see Trump and his family locked up soon. Not because it isn’t a great image, but because it’s just simply not going to happen, and we are much better off using our energy to gear up for the midterms and kick Trump out of office the only way we can...by beating him in 2020.

There is a 0 percent chance he and his family go to jail, and the chances he steps down for any reason other than losing the 2020 election are minuscule. People will get mad at me for saying that. But it’s the truth.
