all of these people trying to fix physical things that for 100 years has not been an issue
In both Parkland and Texas, the fire alarm was pulled. Kids are going to go out multiple doors. Depending on the lay out of your school, logistics are put in place to exit the building as quickly as possible.

(32,786 posts)There is a protocol in the event someone pulls the alarm for nefarious purposes while still evacuating in a timely and orderly fashion.

(476 posts)I literally heard a Republican strategist saying that turning schools into something like a prison was necessary to protect children... funny how the US is the only country that needs prison schools to protect kids from gun violence.
I live in Ireland and my kids go to Irish schools. I lived in London before that. No schools I've been to even have security guards, much less metal detectors or armed guards. Most are like US colleges... just walk on and walk off with no oversight,,, yes, some external doors have keypad locks, but every kid knows the code, and half the time the doors are propped open.
This is how the entire world, except the US, works. Unless you're in a war torn country.
