Who she is, her most passionate humanitarian causes, & much more
She is an impressive woman!
Wwcd
(6,288 posts)her steady walk thru life says she is well made for her position as Mrs Prince Harry.
Imagine the power to do good, that they now hold as a couple.
They both seem so dearly happy with their lives.
Love this..it is future & hope.

(6,288 posts)& future monarchy. I do believe they will do great things for humanity, each in their own right and as a united group.
It appears the future has arrived with Markle being the last missing piece
I can't wait to see the story unfold.
And the current cutie pie kids! I can't wait to see Harry & Meghan's babies.

(128,827 posts)Diana was 6 months older than me and Charles was 13 years her senior (where Camilla is a year older than him). So there was obviously a bit of a generation gap going on there too. It's all part of the trials and tribulations of the wealthy (and not just royalty because the robber "barons" and landed gentry here in the U.S. did the same thing - they "selected" who would marry who, with a "Cotillion" being where they were formally "introduced" to each other).
It's an ancient thing across cultures around the world.

(15,536 posts)She was cruel in her treatment of Diana and he was even worse.
BumRushDaShow
(128,827 posts)it is obvious (and has been for years) that Charles doesn't really want to be King and he had always wanted Camilla. His family "selected" Diana to re-invigorate that Windsor family bloodline and that was dutifully done. This (IMHO) is why Will and Kate have been carefully groomed for the job and they are setting the tone for the "next era".

(42,300 posts)My take is that Chaz was always a gentle, perhaps weak, soul who was easily maneuvered. Plus the whole "duty to the Crown" thing.
Poor Diana didn't stand a chance. I can't see William and Harry allowing that for their wives.

(128,827 posts)He was swinging out there but as direct heir, they had to get him married.
And so he finally did.
(this is a nice pic of the boys when they were little)

(15,536 posts)had to be young and have many fertile years ahead of her. Camilla didn't fit that bill.
BumRushDaShow
(128,827 posts)she went on and got married to someone else (and then divorced) so that was all a "no-no".
Well he has his cake now and is consuming it rather well too.

(42,300 posts)Absolutely gorgeous. Meghan's mother looks so calm and elegant.
They donated all of the flowers to a hospice.
They also requested donations to several charities in lieu of gifts - one charity provides sanitary napkins to Indian women.
Wasn't that neat!

(7,220 posts)I've never cared much for the whole monarchy thing, but it does occur to me how Diana set the tone for it to be acceptable to publicly support a cause based on a stigmatized bodily function. Back in the day, her support of AIDS causes earned her the disparaging nickname "patron saint of AIDS" by the royal family, if memory serves.
Just a reminder of how important it is for people of privilege (famous or not) to take risks by helping those in need, even (especially) where stigma exists.

(42,300 posts)Except for Meghan's wedding bouquet which, by royal tradition (started by the Queen Mother in the 1920s), was sent to Westminster Abbey to be placed over the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
