Obviously, Nunes and Gowdy are carrying the water for Donald Trump and they want to see the "source" document of why there is an investigation in the first place? Trump probably wants the information for his defense in his impeachment trial? He has acted guilty since Day One.
The most interesting and important meeting of the day will be with the Gang of Eight. How much will he give them? Will they be picking their jaws up off the floor? Will he give them enough to consider impeachment? I have no doubt but that there is a lot of evidence ready to present. Will Rosenstein present it today?

(10,952 posts)1. Rosenstein tells Nunes that he is also a subject of Mueller's investigation due to his roll in the campaign/transition/midnight run to the WH and he has to leave the room after being handed a subpoena to appear before the Grand Jury.
or
2. Rosenstein sets up Nunes by appearing to include a "bombshell" item that is so tantalizing that Nunes cannot help himself but either runs to Trump or reveals it to the public. Mueller's team sits back to see what happens. If they get the goods on Nunes, out comes the invitation to talk or he will be subpoenaed.
Rosenstein needs to make it clear to the Republicans that, if any of them reveal what they learn in the meeting to the WH or to the public, that will constitute an attempt to interfere with an ongoing criminal investigation and what the consequence of that action is

(4,483 posts)Ever since this strange meeting was announced, I have thought how stupid Nunes et al. are to insist on having the information they're apparently hoping to get. They must know whatever they're told will be leaked immediately by one or more of them, whether it's bad or good for Trump, because leaking is what they *do*. And they surely can't imagine that Mueller doesn't have damaging material, or that the damaging material isn't what Rosenstein is going to reveal (at least in part).
Maybe they think, as RWers seem to do, that everyone is like them, that this investigation is being run the way they ran the Benghazi investigation(s)--for purely political purposes and without much factual support. If that's the case, boy, are they in for a rude awakening.
