Scott Dominates Airwaves In Florida Senate Race

May 24, 2018 at 8:01 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) “is off to an early and expensive start in advertising his U.S. Senate bid, spending more than $1 million a week on TV spots for a race that could determine whether the GOP keeps control of the chamber,” Bloomberg reports.

“His Democratic opponent, incumbent Senator Bill Nelson, has yet to run a commercial in what’s likely to be the most expensive congressional race in the country.”

“Scott, who can dip into his personal fortune, has also gotten help from outside groups, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, that have brought total TV spending on his behalf to $8.7 million in the past five weeks.”

I hate him (living in Tallahassee a lot of people around here hate him) but this state is stupidly conservative. Nelson is well liked by many, but I don't know if he can pull it off.

He visited the island several times right after the hurricane, helped the Dem governor down there much more than Trump did and helped PR students with in state tuition and letting PR schoolchildren get into FL schools without all the appropriate documentation.

Hate to say it, but my people are very loyal to those they perceive as friends, and Rick Scott is seen as such, particularly by recent arrivals.

these ads, but they are awful and laughable. At times, his statements are unintelligible. Money not well spent!
