(1,469 posts)The lack of media attention would hurt him more that anything else. He will even bask in negative attention if that is all he can get.

(31,818 posts)Seriously. I don't have twitter on my cell phone. Most of 45's tweets I read about online. When they 45's tweets are wrapped in complete coherent sentences with 45's desired policy I will pay attention.
The maggot is a liar - it only lies when it's lips are moving or its fingers are typing. Don't feed the wild life I say!

(2,275 posts)"In a [tweet, statement, etc.] Trump has lied again."
The journalist could add, "The false statement is undercut by....." Then list the sources or cut to Trump's own contradictiry statements.
MEME NOTE: The phrase "Trump has lied again" has a very apt acrronym: THLA. It rhymes with blah.

(2,275 posts)Either way, Trump Has Lied Again.
He defined thla blah himself in the Art of the Deal. I believe he called it "truthful hyperbole."

(1,336 posts)I only get CNN, which is getting pretty good at calling out Trump's lies, as well as the lies perpetrated by the Trumpistas who commentate. However, I frequently listen to NPR and its news reports ONLY report on the lies spewed by Dolt45, and never, EVER follow them up with a refutation. So what is a person to think? No doubt NPR will say that until it has indisputable proof that the lie is actually a lie, then it's simply the duty of NPR to report what Dolt45 said.
He's an expert at playing the media, and since he has no morals, he gets away with it.

(2,275 posts)I've noticed the same thing. They rarely fact check when thla happens. (See comment above: THLA = Trump Has Lied Again).

(Not that they shouldn't say when something is false, they just don't)

(2,275 posts)The consolidation of the small press into corporations has moved the needle from truth to entertainment.
We simply have to elect ALERT Democrats on Nov. 6. We need to revisit the trust-busting and regulatory actions of earlier eras. Maybe even improve on them.
We need a committee to make a list of concrete proposals.

Too many outlets are little more than copy readers, megaphones for Trump.
