What we learned today from the classified briefings?

It is that Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan have lost complete control of the bodies they are supposed to lead. They know about the Gang of Eight. They know about the policy of bi-partisanship in such circumstances. They know not to load it down in favor of one Party or the other. They know who is permitted into the briefing and who is not. But they did not care or they were too chicken shit to challenge Donald Trump, their President. They know that he would not abide by any such rules and would look for an opportunity to break them. They did nothing. They let him send in his Chief of Staff and his personal Attorney to listen in to the briefing.

Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell cannot even guarantee that the basic rules of the House and Senate are followed. Not a good day for either body.
