I started the thread because I love America:

I believe in American exceptionalism. America is more than a large piece of real estate between Canada and Mexico
A little story. I had a dear friend, an African American, who grew up in Jim Crow Alabama. You know he felt some pain. He joined the Army In 1950 at the age of seventeen and served in Korea and Vietnam where he earned two Bronze Stars. When he retired from the military after twenty years he worked another twenty years in the civilian military sector. He was an extraordinary man. He made a nominal investment in a black owned community bank that he parlayed into over one million dollars. He was like a surrogate father to me. I asked him once how he could join the military at a time when his people were treated like second class citizens or worse. He said he joined the Army because he believed in the ideals America espouses.
I believe with all my heart Trump and his enablers are making a mockery of these ideals.
