It avoids a lot of "I told you so" feuds. On some boards you can bump decade old threads to the top.

6. twitter does not "bump" things except in your own timeline

if you a respond to a tweet it will go to the top of your timeline along with your reply.

if you use a hashtag your tweet will be the first once persons viewing that hashtag see.
