of the shooter for not keeping the gun safe. Other parents are suing gun manufactures now too.
SANTA FE, Texas The Family of Santa Fe school shooting victim Christopher Jake Stone has filed a lawsuit against the parents of shooter Dimitrios Pagourtzis.
The lawsuit claims the parents did not safely secure their guns and are therefore responsible for gross negligence. They are also suing the parents for the wrongful death of their son.

Kudos to her parents.
I wish them the best, considering the tragedy they live with forever.

(25,841 posts)I seem to think the the gun manufacturers are safe from similar suits, because if you use a gun to shoot (and perhaps kill) someone, you're simply doing exactly what the gun is intended for.

Seattle is working on a city ordinance regarding safe storage of firearms. They also recently reported on the effectiveness of a new law passed last year re: disarming people who are a danger to themselves and others. It's a small step, and apparently they've only seized a few weapons so far, but it's a start.
