The media will declare Trump a savior if he simply meets with Kim Jong Un

If anyone persuades Kim Jong Un to destroy his existing nuclear bombs, that person will deserve lots of credit.
But the expectation among the media and Trump's team is that simply getting together in a room at all will be a hit.

Trump expects to use this as a tool to paint himself as a pacifist, as he moves the Israeli embassy to Jerusalem causing dozens of deaths, and as he participates in the bombing of civilians in Yemen; supports Duterte's violence in the Philippines, etc.

Let's be ready to call out the media for lowering the bar on Trump as usual.

1. I still don't see the summit occurring

Trump is too eager for the meeting and he really has nothing to offer. His carrots are as small as his fingers and his stick just cannot be used.

Kim, on the other hand, has a stronger position. He has a handful of nuclear weapons that protect him; although he would lose in an exchange with the U.S., he would destroy enough and kill enough on his way out that there would be no "winner" regardless of the outcome

The summit would benefit Kim far more than Trump. But it probably won't happen because North Korea plays this game far better than Trump ever could. Trump will get played and Kim will emerge in a stronger diplomatic position.

Just my opinion on a sunny Saturday morning.
