Woman slips note to veterinarian saying boyfriend holding her captive, police say

A Florida woman has her dog's veterinarian to thank for escaping the clutches of her armed boyfriend.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said Saturday a woman who was held captive by her boyfriend for two days managed to slip a note to her vet reading, "Call the cops, my boyfriend is threatening me. He has a gun. Please don't let him know."

The note worked, and officers from the DeLand Police Department came and arrested the man, identified as 39-year-old Jeremy Floyd. Floyd is a convicted felon, according to the sheriff's office.

The woman told police Floyd had allegedly held her captive for two days and "repeatedly battered her on Wednesday night, threatened her at gunpoint, and physically prevented her from leaving their home." Finally, the woman managed to convince Floyd she needed to take their dog to the veterinarian, though he only did so while accompanying her with a gun, sheriffs said....

The guy has a record of very bad behavior.
I am also surprised this creep allowed her to take the dog to the vet in the first place!
Usually if a person is a violent abuser of people, they will have a history of animal abuse also.

My focus is on HER as a victim and for her safety, recovery and well-being for the rest of her life.

As for HIM, I hope he rots in prison and never gets out.

I also hope she gets in a program that protects her, because if/when he does get out of prison, the odds are good that he will go looking for her with bad intent.

32. I have a friend who has a angry Trump supporter husband who loves his dogs

more than he likes her or anyone. Some of these angry people cannot get along with anyone so they are into their dogs big time - but still would not think twice about kicking their "beloved" dog when angry.

I've seen him come home from work, not acknowledge her or me - just go to his dogs and love them up. She talks of leaving him but doesn't. My other friend finally left her right wing abuser husband and is living happily ever after with a f**king normal person.

Was transported to the hospital by authorities. She had a head injury, a black eye and bruises on her arms.

The police found bullet holes in the walls of their home. Shots were fired when she struggled with him over possession of the gun. He then beat her repeatedly so bad she had to spend a day in bed before she talked him into going to the vet.

If this guy ever gets out of prison, I'm sure he will come looking for her. She better move far, far away and leave no trail.

Had a friend decades ago who was living with an abusive husband. We all worked for the same company.

l was shocked to learn she had two bullets lodged in her arms but never reported it. Her seemingly sweet husband projected one persona to the public - very polite, kind, sweet, but he was terrible to her. I urged her to divorce him. She did.

We had then moved out of the state. Less than a year after the divorce, he murdered her. When I got the letter from her mother letting me know, I collapsed onto the floor. For years I felt guilt for being the main one who encouraged her to leave him. She may have at least stayed alive in that relationship. I agnognized and beat myself up. But her mom never blamed me - she and I corresponded for years until her death. I loved them both.

Francis was a special person. I'm wiping tears as I type.

We watched a show on Investigative Discovery last night where this wife escaped after seven days of the most horrific abuse by breaking a glass in a door and using a mop a as a crutch to reach a neighbor since she was too weak to walk. I was in tears - I could not believe anyone could be so cruel to another human being or even another animal in such a way. This was because she wanted to leave him temporarily.

Some years back a good friend of mine husband was trying to kill her. We were to go out that morning, she was going to pick me up. It was no secret her husband was an abuser. Several times she would leave him and go back. This time was different. That morning we were supposed to go out, my phone rang and it was her husband. He said he was calling me and his wife wanted to talk to me. I thought this was odd cause he never called me and if she wanted to talk to me she would call me herself. She started talking on the phone and I did not ask her was she okay. I knew something was wrong but I didn't want to let on. She said to me 'remember that page in that book, page nine hundred and eleven, I want you to read that ok? I said sure I'll read it. She hung up the phone and I called 911 immediately and told them that my friends husband was trying to kill her. I gave them her address and when the police got there he had a rope tied around her throat and was trying to hang her. they took her to the ER and there were several cops there questioning her. I learned they had him in custody as well. She said he was planning on murdering her that day.he had huge black trash bags her was going to put her in. She also said he had tried to drown her in the bathtub. She said he was going to make it look like she was robbed and killed. I asked her why did he call me? She said she told him that we had a previous engagement that day and if I did not show I was going to get suspicious and come over that is why he allowed her to talk to me. He died last year of an illness
