General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI bought Comey's book, McCain's book and Malcolm Nance's book yesterday.
I finished Hillary's book, Katy Tur's book and Michael Wolf's book
I looked for Clapper's book but Barnes and Noble was either out of them or hadn't gotten them yet.
All books were on sale and I also used my teacher discount. Not a bad price for all 3 books.
When I am done with them, I add them to our building community library.

(102,119 posts)Is that different than your public library?

(31,997 posts)there is a little room next to the weight room where you can take a book or leave a book.
I have left Al Franken's Giant of the Senate, Hillary's What Happened, Michael Wolf's Fire and Fury and Katy Tur's book.
They are all being read.
I also left all 3 shades of Grey and they are still there.

(12,155 posts)When I was 11 we were living in a very rural place without TV or radio. Every 2 weeks we went to the library. I would check out 4-6 books. By the time we got home I would be into at least 3.
I can't really do that anymore.

(58,785 posts)suicide by violating longstanding ethical standards in full view of the world, providing Trump with legitimate excuse for firing him out of spite? Or did he say when the reports of the OIG and FBI's own ethics investigations into his activities will finally be released to the public?
Of course, this career is over and door permanently closed even if he never spends a day in jail. So did he say what comes next for him? Even if a bizarrely ungrateful whackadoodle Republican president fired instead of protecting him, he must have the good will of very powerful people. Also, the many people who are afraid of what any FBI director knows also means he is still very powerful. What ticket is he writing?

(15,682 posts)and James Patterson, The President is Missing.
I would read pretty much anything written by Bill Clinton. And, although it's been some years, I have enjoyed Patterson's books in the past. Just the prospect of these two teaming up to write a book is kind of exciting to me.
I'm going to bookmark this thread because it contains my own reading wish list - something I never keep track of and fail to recall when I'm actually looking at books to buy.

(17,604 posts).. I was making daily commutes over a very scary HIGH bridge that I would have bad dreams about!!! I literally held my breath as i drove over it. Comeys book was so spellbinding and his voice so soothing it actually gave me about a weeks reprieve from my fears. I finished Michael Wolfs and David Corns.... I havent got Johns or Clappers yet and I havent listened to HRCs or Katy Turs yet. My commute is over with so now I just have to find down time at home and have Alexa read it to me ( can she do that?).

(30,715 posts)then Wolff's book right after that. Hillary writes so well. I found Wolff's book to be written in a confusing manner. I had to go back and read sentences and entire paragraphs.
I know he has won awards for his writing, but I wondered why. I found him a bit on the conservative side, despite the subject matter. I did not expect a tirade of denunciations, but I did not like the book that much.
I am not going to read political books for a while.
