By Rick Ruggles
A Lincoln police officer resigned this month after posting inappropriate messages on social media, the police chief said through a press release.
The officer wasn't named and resigned before an internal hearing took place.
Details were few, but Chief Jeff Bliemeister made it clear that he wouldn't tolerate such messages.
"We are continually working to improve, but we are not perfect," Bliemeister said. "The communication was derogatory and in contrast to the mission and values of our agency."
