(7,725 posts)See here and note, an exemplar of what we should all hope and aspire to be. Looks like he made that climb in mud boots as well.
That was unbelievable. FOUR FLOORS!
I'm not worthy. THIS is the kind of man who you want to lead others.

(58,724 posts)How do you leave a kid on a balcony unattended?
Crutchez_CuiBono
(7,725 posts)How does the adult 2 feet away not get him? Exactly what was he doing? I didn't see much urgency there for having a kid hanging off the balcony.
Four floors and didn't think twice.

(7,725 posts)That was no trick of the eye. The man on the balcony reminds me of dt. And the man climbing up wo hesitation to save another human being, President Obama.

(17,984 posts)Maybe he couldn't quite reach? But even then, jump up on the damned railing, cross to the next apartment, rescue the kid.

(7,725 posts)It scares a lot of people to death.
Don't look down. Check your moves and act. Really incredible.

(17,984 posts)And that kid looks to be about 3' away on the opposite side of the divider. The camera angle makes it look like the neighbor is closer than he really is. Yeah, I think that guy was trying to reach for him but couldn't make it.

(20,567 posts)that shows the man trying to reach the child but he was a neighbor and there was a divider between the balconies. He could not quite reach.

(3,155 posts)there is a wall separating the balconies, and the kid was a couple feet from their reach for a good pull. the child started moving towards the people on the balcony when the climber grabbed the kid.
Leghorn21
(13,522 posts)ran out and reached as far as he could and inch by inch, the child was being pulled towards the man...at the very very end, you can see the youngsters feet very clearly swinging closer to the neighbor, who by THEN could have reached the child with his other hand and swung him to safety - and thats the EXACT moment the amazing young hero snatches him right up over the rail -
Kudos, props, respect and gratitude to all involved!!!!! This happened in a matter of seconds, and Ive no doubt the woman behind the man was as freaked as she could be, and I mean, NO DOUBT - hell, that neighbor couple most likely know this youngster, and they did all they could to help -
Its so beautiful and sad and wonderful...
ANYWAY, uncle ray, all this to say, I totally agree with your post!!
