Republicans are Running against the 'Others.'

That's their populist goal. Those "others" are their current scapegoat. They want to stir up fear and hatred of everyone who is not them. Naturally, immigrants and people of other "races" are those "others." They're also throwing in "liberals" and "the poor" for good measure. This is not surprising, since their base is racist, xenophobic and generally bigoted.

Why is this important? Because we're going to be seeing trolls and water-carriers for the Right encouraging us not to pay attention to issues of race, economic status and other characteristics of all those "others." "Don't worry about it," they will say. "It's not that big a problem."You don't need to be concerned."

The goal is to lull Democratic voters into a passive state that will result in lower turnout in 2018.

Watch for people doing these things on social media and in other places where politics are discussed. When you see it, remember this post. It's a strategy that is designed to make you want to take a nap and ignore the problems.

Don't fall for it!
