You are all talented and accomplished actors and actresses. You have numerous successful credits to your names over the course of your career. We all cherish and appreciate your body of work.
With regards to the situation concerning your co-star, I can understand if you feel some sort of level of affinity or beholden obligation towards Ms. Barr because you feel she may be partly responsible for your level of success today. Or perhaps you think of Ms. Barr like one might think of their elderly grandparent who holds arcane, bigoted views but nonetheless is still a member of the family to whom you've grown emotionally attached.
However, it's not actually like that. Own up to your talent. You built you, not Roseanne. And she's not your loveable but backwards grandmother.
You own her nothing.
I'm saying it's time to cut the ties with this vile woman. There will be plenty of future acting work that can be offered to you on your acting merits alone. The longer you associate with Ms. Barr, the further you risk her bringing you down with her into the mud.
So brush your feet off and be done with her.
What would be losing, anyways, but a sitcom that should have never been revived in the first place.
ON EDIT:
Looks like you are now free to go about your lives once again.

(7,947 posts)...and it is wrong to force them to be exposed to racism in order to keep their jobs.
Maybe you all can just shrug off your racist colleague, but children should not be expected to just ignore their boss like you can. After all, if she's saying racist things in public, what do you think she's saying to the children in private?

(31,109 posts)WOW it is an ALL STAR show.
Yet, given the leader and primary owner of the show, it MUST go.
And all those people will be harmed now by losing their jobs. But in this case I dont see any other way.
ABC will NEVER cancel it though, money is much more important than morals. But if it was cancelled, Roseanne's claim to fame now will be she went out of her way to destroy all those jobs.

(34,661 posts)spot on. ABC seems to subtly promote a white privilege agenda. Some what fimiliar with the Disney operations through a family member who was a cast member and also a production manager.

(26,619 posts)ABC has done some excellent programming.. their "American Crime" series was one of the best tv viewing I've seen in a while, but of course it was canceled after three seasons.. no money in truth and reality.

(7,316 posts)I don't watch that show but I feel for the others.
How about they just fire Rosanne and replace her? You could hire Rosie O'Donnell and you wouldn't even need to change the title.

(776 posts)Maybe its time to return the favor lol. I really dont think she is bringing anything to the new show anyway. Let her character die of lack of insurance...

(776 posts)Of what could be a really good show. They are still pushing progressive issues and opening up some dialogue fgfor the general public just like the kiss episonde back in the day. I will never understand how rosanne can be a blatent racist and then put out a progressive show. It might just be shock publicity gone awry but its getting real old and isnt really needed if the show can stand on its own.

(50,261 posts)She's a vile human being who should never have been hired in the first place, but they're stuck with her now. Either ABC is a racist network or its not. Their decision. There must be a clause in Roseanne's contract that would give ABC a way to separate the network from the bigot.

(2,191 posts)Roseanne and her vile opinions are the only reason the show came back on at all. So although I feel sorry for the crew, no one who's getting a paycheck as a cast member should be saying this.

(3,435 posts)They stood wth a known racist, bigot, Barr and trumpf for what? A damn idiotic sit-com/television show that appealed to the worst of us.
A recent interview on PBS with civil rights activist Harry Belafonte was to say the least disheartening, in that, in order for things to change Caucasian--Americans, will have to reject, rid hate once and for all. I just don't see that happening in this hateful, hurtful environment where people of color are being verbally and physically assaulted daily--in some cases murdered in cold blood by police whose job is to protect them; that is not the case, now is it? Hate speech is not free speech. We have allowed trump, republikkklans to use "political correctness" against America when it's ust about being kind, decent, respectful to one another. Here is an excerpt of interview...

By PBS NewsHour/transcript-Charlayne Hunter-Gault]
Harry Belafonte: To realize Martin Luther King Jr.s dream, white America needs to change course
Nation
Charlayne Hunter-Gault sat down with one of King's closest friends, artist and activist Harry Belafonte, in his home.....So, what do you think it will take today to make his dream of the beloved community a reality?
Harry Belafonte: Until white America begins or even decides to identify a moral course of history, I don't think anything is going to happen. I think America will self-destruct.
Charlayne Hunter-Gault: But the civil rights movement was black and white together.
Harry Belafonte: Yes.
Charlayne Hunter-Gault: That's not the case anymore?
Harry Belafonte: That's the case, but it's not the fact.
The case is that we have to fix it. The fact is that it's not fixable if white folks don't decide to change their course of conduct.
The only thing left for black people to do is to burn it down. We have been lynched. We have been murdered.
And, if you look around, never before in my 91 years of history as an American have I ever seen the nation more racially divisive than it is at this very moment, including the days of the Ku Klux Klan and the segregation laws of the South.

Until they won the huge lottery. Then it got stupid.
Missed the new show and figured to catch it on rerun.
Not going to bother now.
