I live in Michigan, we are almost surrounded by those pesky, but nice to a fault Canadians.
They are to the north of us, they are to the south of us, well Detroit, they are to the east. How do we stop them?

We need a Northern Wall. Mexican food is awesome, it’s popular, everyone loves tacos and burritos.
Mexico gives us Cinco de Mayo, really cool piñatas, great vacation locations.

What does Canada give us? Poutine? Yeah I see McPoutine places every block after block.
Hockey is the best thing, but now that it’s out in the desert, who needs Canada?

I'm a Niagara U Alumna - my dorm looked out over the gorge - and grew up in/lived in Rochester for almost 30 years. So about those times in the early 1990's when my mom would take me out for clothes when she would visit - and I would have to wear old sweats that got left in garbage can. The exchange rate was killer -

And you know what?

The Canadians never complained about us 'taking advantage'.
They were never rude to college kids having dinner on their side in St Catharines.

24. I was stationed in NY...

Between Rochester and Utica at Seneca Army Depot. Tried to get some classes at Brock U. But the Army could not let me go to Canada. Had to take a couple classes at Cornell.

Couldn’t go because of security clearance restrictions. Was in ASA before nukes that were at Seneca.

Don’t know when you were there but do you remember the restaurant “Tail of the Whale”?
I was there between 72 to 76.

Republicans have often found a way to tax people surreptitiously by privatizing many public works projects to corporations rather than have gov’t pay for it. A fee/toll is a tax under another name.

The corporations/investors are granted a multi-year license with a guaranteed profit.

This could also be done with Trump’s Wall with Mexico.

Corporations/investors front the money to build it and they will be paid by Mexico.

It gives republicans a chance to save the gov’t money by investing in it and show their confidence in Trump’s word that Mexico will pay for it .

No gov’t backed bonds.

No cost to the gov’t,,, no need for taxes,,, profit for the patriotic investors who believe in Trump.

Win win all around.

Even Trump can show his patriotism and shrewd business savvy by investing in it.
