who asked her a question about what was being done about guns. He said he was afraid to go to school.

She answered that it was a subject Trump is interested in, yada, yada and how bad it is to be afraid to go to school. Her voice cracked a little and it seemed she might be choking up.

I thought for a second that she was choking up emotionally, but then I thought she was very nervous because she knew if she gave an answer that wasn’t acceptable it would go viral. In other words she knew her answer could get her in trouble.

Challenges her ability to keep up the facade that all is well. Looking this kid in the eye reminded her that she is a mom and she knows it is wrong for kids to have to go to school afraid. But she really had no good answer for the boy. Just the usual set answer “We’re looking into it.” But for a moment, just a few seconds, she revealed that she has a hard job. Lying daily will take it out of you. Especially when you have to lie to a child. Of course, she has a choice. She could quit. But she won’t do that. The Tough, Mean Sarah that stands in front of the media daily won’t let her go that far.
