Cynthia Nixon. Chelsea Manning. A number of other weak erstwhile candidates put up to primary Democratic incumbents. It's not a matter of actually planning to win. It's pure performance art.
It's entertaining, I suppose, to a small, select audience, but most folks are choosing some other entertainment.

(146,288 posts)I'm not a big Claire McKaskill fan, but she'll be the Democrat on the ballot in November, without any question. It's Missouri.
The risk is in alienating enough Democrats that the Republican wins. How does that help?

(29,674 posts)Because of it. The supporter who sent the email is an independent candidate for US House, has a Confederate flag on his profile and called himself a "proud, White Southern Nationalist."
If you can't denounce him you don't deserve positive attention (and donations) through club invites.
