FBI agent did a back flip in a club, dropped his gun and accidentally shoots someone. video

It was after midnight at the Mile High Spirits bar near downtown Denver, and things were going well for the man in the middle of the dance floor. Patrons surrounded him and women smiled at him, some with their phones out, as he showed off his freestyle dance moves.

Then, he swung his arms back and squatted, as if to prepare for his next big move. He jumped up, arching his back and swinging his arms above his head. But as he was about to land his backflip, a gun flew out from his holster at the back of his pants. He landed and as he picked up his gun from the floor, it fired.

He tucked his gun back into his holster and walked away from the dance floor, raising both his hands. Patrons began to scatter, and the women who had been smiling at him just seconds earlier stared, a look of open-mouthed shock on their faces.

The incident, which occurred at 12:45 a.m. Saturday, was captured in a 32-second video obtained by ABC affiliate KMGH.

I mean,..I know it technically can be real..it's not impossible...but, damn.

This guy actually had training, and stuff. Shit like that can't happen when you've had training, right?

The only thing that can stop a good guy (FBI agent) with a gun is apparently someone who can do cartwheels.

They're supposed to be armed when off-duty, but he failed to secure his weapon properly (going for the movies-style back waistband approach), and while DANCING overzealously, for crying out loud. You can also question going to a bar/club at all. And last but certainly not least, he *wounded* someone, who could have been killed. Retraining may not be the answer here.

Two more things after a closer read: he fired the gun when he went to pick it up. Scary. And he evidently had a round in the chamber and the safety off. Oof.

He probably lucky he didn't give himself a vasectomy.

Besides being a dumbass, he's a crappy dancer.

Gun negligence needs to be prosecuted as the serious crime that it is.

I personally dislike them, their "Safe Action" System:

The trigger safety is incorporated into the trigger in the form of a lever and when in the forward position, blocks the trigger from moving rearward. To fire the pistol, the trigger safety and the trigger itself, must be deliberately depressed at the same time. If the trigger safety is not depressed, the trigger will not move rearwards and allow the pistol to fire.

As the video shows deliberate does not mean intentional. In this case the agents thumb pressed the lever and trigger as he was picking it up causing the gun to fire
