Relief she is with you today..

I was 19 when my bff brother took his life one August night. A most kind & funny & gentle person, in the middle of the night, loaded a single shot in the 22 rifel, walked 1/2 mile from the house, sat down under the starry summer night sky & leaned the gun to his right temple & pulled the trigger.

He was 17.
40 yrs later that shocking moment in time stands still for those who could never step past the loss & his agony.
Like a pebble tossed in a still pool, the ripples never stop.

The whole event is everlasting tragedy with no one to blame, & no way to resolve it.
It just sucks.

I can’t even imagine the pain she must have been in to believe this was her only alternative.

10. That is it exactly effie...she told me later that it was too painful to face even one more day...

a friend on social media managed to contact us in time. She was hospitalized for about a week...but it took months for us to get the help she needed. There is little mental health care in this country even for those who have insurance as we did. She is back in school an doing much better.
