im @a Hampton Inn in Oklahoma

We're on a trip with my inlaws visiting towns in north Tx and Oklahoma where 6 generations of doctors have practiced. This morning at the Hampton Inn breakfast area full of people they have Faux News on showing the idiot and Kim with the hosts fawning all over themselves praising DOTUS.After a few minutes i got up & changed the channel to NBC Today. So far no one has changed it back. My small revenge to keep my blood pressure down today 😊

personally I think the best way to deal with tRump is to paint him as the buffoon he is. Show him as weak, ineffective, stupid. Not the Greatest Deal Maker Evah, just some guy who got taken for a ride by a tinpot dictator, and weakened us along the way.

NOT to change the channel. Or worse making it impossible to change it.

Good for you. At least those Fox fans in the room were forced to hear THE OTHER SIDE of the story. You know. More like the truth of the matter instead of the puffed up nonsense they’d get from Fox.

opthomologist's office always had FoxNews on. She was the only person facing the waiting room so she was the only one able to watch the TV. She did put up a sign saying no one was allowed to change the channel after the channel was changed to watch TV Land or some other innocuous channel. Fortunately she retired and now at least HGTV plays in the background these days.

There is a rather large waiting area. It is big enough that they need several TV sets so anyone who wants to watch can see them. They also put on closed captioning. Those TVs are always tuned to HGTV. A good, safe choice so no fist fights break out.

but it was the doctor who ordered it not be changed unless a patient strongly requested. The poor receptionist hated it and ended up leaving. I didn't stay with that Dr very long but strongly requested a channel change every time I went.

Honestly, those people who favor Fox seem unable to handle the “other side”. At least WE can hear it, dissect what they are saying and do a compare and contrast if necessary. A little critical thinking goes a long way. For them, their first instinct is to plug their ears and run screaming from the room. And to think they call us snowflakes.

so i got up, and with a bunch of eyes watching i changed the channel. The hubby said he had my back in the case anybody got up to raise hell but no one did. I happen to think given many of the people having breakfast like us were business travelers from out of town and probably appreciated it.

for travelers who don't have time to get breakfast there. Plus they have full size suites with king beds which are a big bonus, especially if you travel with kids. You can just ask for a tow-away bed and another kid can bunk on the sofa. Also has fridge and microwave as well for the late night snacking.

I have changed many a breakfast room TV channel from Faux News. The only place I ever caught any grief was at the Hampton Inn in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Management came out, switched it back to Faux, and informed me that Faux News was the default news channel for that particular Hampton Inn.
"Fine," I sez. "Next time through Vicksburg, I'll be staying at the La Quinta."

Asked manager to change, he said it was company policy. Upon return home sent email complaining and got an email back saying la Quinta is proud to have faux news on, from that point on any email I got was marked as spam and never stayed at one again. I stay at Best Westerns now which only has local news on. Once a guy asked the server to change to faux and the woman said “no only local news” is our company policy.

supporting the Russian takeover of the US (that is how I always address these people when I mention it to them)--we will never stay at one. It practically ruins my trip whenever I stay at a place that automatically starts the TV on FAUX Noise. Had that happen not too long ago at a Hampton Inn in Janesville WI (home of Eddie Munster lookalike), no surprise.

I emailed corporate and the response I got back was that it was company policy to have fox on in the breakfast room. My sister in law stayed at a La Quinta recently and told me faux was on the tv. I told her my story about emailing corporate. She said she couldn’t stand faux and that she took her food back to her room and after talking with me no longer will go to La Quinta.

Good to call in advance to ask so they know if you end up staying there that they would have lost your business if on a FAUX Noise default on public and room TVs. And if they answer with FAUX support that they lost a potential customer directly for that reason.

I recently walked out of a McDonald's in Orlando. When I was standing in line to order, I noticed all of the numerous TV's were on FAUX and before I ordered, asked if FAUX was always on and the girl said yes, so I said "You just lost a customer" and walked out.

I do not eat a McDonald's anyway. Even I live in a red county we do not have faux news playing in public places..yet. I would not worry to much about faux new because if things keep going the way they are it will all be trump tv. No news, movies, or tv programs unless he and his evil ilk like it.

was a Sonic Screwdriver universal remote. It had one setting that would turn off any TV (it would scan all frequencies until it found the one that turned off the TV in question). Once repairs on my house are completed and I can find it, I'm going to have to start travelling with it.
