5. I'm all for supporting our free press.

The press is so important to our country it's in the Constitution which I took an oath to defend when I joined the Army. He has my support and appreciation.

What I want to see is his fellow members of the press visibly and loudly doing the same. DUers' appreciation will do little to nothing besides maybe helping us sleep better.

A good start would be a room of empty chairs at the daily press briefing. I won't be holding my breath.

No White House Press Spokesperson I can remember made passing the buck a standard response to almost any question that's asked. Her pat answer is to "refer you to Fill-In-The-Blank-Here commission/office/department/counsel/authority-over-there-somewhere. She is freakin' USELESS! What are we paying her salary for? We're certainly not getting our money's worth.

I have a question for her at one of these things: "How soon are you leaving?"

55. Better late than never, Mr Acosta. Since the mainstream mega-corporation media gifted Trump

countless hours of free propaganda time and obsessively hounded Clinton over using a private email server the same as Colin Powell etc., these journalists pocketing royal salaries owe a debt beyond measure to the American people.

Of course, let's encourage White House correspondents to do their jobs as competently as the rest of us American workers are required to do or we'd quickly get sacked by our employers.

It's impossible to forget how offended and puffed up these journalists were by Michelle Wolf at the White House Correspondence Dinner when she "spoke truth to power" that they created and love Trump for their increased circulations and ratings.

There's nobody today in the same league as Ben Bradley or Carl Bernstein who risked their careers to expose Nixon's iniquities during the presidential campaign of 1972. It's too late for our mainstream media journalists to do anything more than redeem their reputations.

As for Acosta, in the 2012 presidential campaign he was CNN's head correspondent covering Romney and never laid a figurative glove on Mr. 47% video. Sure his reports were accurate about Trump like those of many others such as Katy Tur, but they let Trump steamroll them in person with sheer dumbass blustering and obvious mendacity. And, hey, questioning press secretaries harshly is a mere walk in the park compared to jousting with Trump, General Kelly or even Veep Pence.

Ironically, one of the few who did give Trump a doggone tough time when it really mattered was Megan Kelly before Rupert Murdoch had decided to turn his propaganda juggernaut in support of Trump. No surprise that Murdoch has let her go to NBC when her salary is just chump change for FoxNews. She can proudly say, "i told you so!".
