(6,137 posts)In fact the entire EU should boycott all american corporations, every single fastfood chain, etc. Its very easy to do. This needs to become a worldwide movement.

(476 posts)And the attitude toward America is at an ebb that I think would shock even the most cynical Americans.
There's a new feeling of... America used to be a good country that did a lot of bad things... Non-stop... But at least the people were decent and it was a great place to work, if you didn't mind lowering your standard of living.
Now... It's more like America is a bad country with a minority of decent but complacent folks, and a majority of folks who are crazy.
Also, those EU representatives in the G7, they represent hundreds of millions of people, and all those people just took offense.
It's a bad time for the United States globally.

(1,474 posts)a lust to be riddled with AR15 shells? To behold Nazi-like treatment of children? To observe a once noble and great country self-destruct because of xenophobia and hatred? If I could I would permanently vacation in Canada. trump is destroying the goodness we all knew when Obama was president. It will take us years to recover from the orange hate-monger. Longer than I will live. God, I hope I am wrong and just being paranoid.

(2,187 posts)At this point I'm not even sure border guards would let me in (being Canadian), and I wouldn't take my child there(last he be snatched and incarcerated). I luv Vegas; it's my "happy place", but I just can't give my hard earned $$ to a country with a leader that is crapping on us right.now. as soon as the tides turn, I'm going back to Vegas. It is with a heavy heart thst I cancelled my trip and I didn't do it lightly. Sigh.

(58,785 posts)retired Canadians who winter in southern states and are conflicted. The ones I know from our own wintering in Florida would prefer to be able not to. But, although boycotting American goods as much as possible up there may not be too much of a sacrifice, for septuagenarians wintering in Manitoba instead of with friends in Sarasota can be a big one. Even bad for the health of some.
