Something criminal, in a physical sense, will have to occur in these detention facilities to get Session's and trump's attention. A child or teen will get badly injured, severely traumatized, or killed while in custody. Only then will they consider making changes to this horrible policy of separating families. This evil program will be closed down one way or another, sooner or by the electorate. question and train of thought. You are right - there may have been multiple rapes, even murder, that have been ignored, passed off as accidents, or people just "disappeared" before anyone else found out.

There are small towns in south Texas where people (not known to locals) just disappear from jail. Someone I knew decades ago was in a car accident that was suspicious and not well-investigated. Sheriffs and deputies have a lot of power in these remote places, and most people don't pay attention because they see them in church on Sunday if they aren't on duty.
