The prisons are full of people who have not been found guilty so why so much concern for the politicians and not joe blow? Because he only represents moneyed political interests aka a shill. He has the gall to complain about the ACLU not helping the moneyed rich elite.

Do you really think he only stands up for the rich and powerful?

I saw him on CNN I think and he made clear that he believes it is unfair for anyone to be locked up absent conviction. He explicitly included the masses of people with limited resources.

Dershowitz tilts in favor of the accused and tilts against prosecutors. Applying that tilt even to Trump and Manafort when they are accused is being evenhanded. He says he would do that also for his preferred candidate Clinton were roles reversed. The ACLU was attacked when they defended the right of Nazis to march in Skokie. Constitutional rights are meaningless if we only apply them to those we support. Trump and Manafort are monsters who deserve to suffer. But if we deny them constitutional protections we would support for nice people then our nice people will be screwed when bad people win elections. Dershowitz has views which may be wrong but It is not inappropriate for him to apply them to creeps as well to nice people.
