does donnie even threaten trade partners before imposing tariffs?

maybe i've missed it, but does donnie even tell trade partners (canada, china, etc.) what he wants from them (aside from some general concept of america being treated "fairly" ) before imposing tariffs?

i don't recall any explicit threats or terms or deadlines. just vague whining and suddenly he goes straight for something meant to be punitive.

is that about right, or have i missed any explicit "remove your tariff on x or i'll impose tariffs on y"?

but it's like putting toothpaste back in the tube. The Chinese have to be convinced that the government and the people will stick it out to get them to negotiate. That would take maybe years. All he is going to get is retaliation.
